Meet Adele:

“She might look just like me but she acts just like you”

“My dad is the Coach”

She’s beautiful, she’s vibrant, she’s so outgoing, she’s my two year old daughter, she’s the absolute light of my life, she is the reason I am who I am today.

Adele Kay Mata made her appearance into the world on October 31, 2016 at 12:49 pm weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. She was everything I dreamed of plus so so much more. She’s only two years old now but she is incredibly fierce and sassy with a side of sweet and she demands attention when she walks in the room. She has her daddy’s big brown eyes and stalky legs and she has her mama’s attitude. My husband always says, “she might look just like me but she acts just like you” – that is the most accurate description of Adele.

Adele was always such a chill baby, didn’t cry much, sort of just went with the flow and she was almost always super easy. But BOY did she give me a run for my money once she hit about 18 months old. She gets into any and everything she can get her hands on. She will lay in her bed and talk to herself for extended periods of time just to avoid falling asleep even when she is exhausted and now she loves to tell me “no.” Life with a toddler has been quite the adventure so far.

My hopes for Adele are that as she grows up she will always remain honest, humble, and forgiving. I hope that she always remembers that we are all created equal and everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. While I always hope she respects everyone she comes in contact with I also hope she always uses her voice and defends herself and others. I hope she always speaks for what is right and never buckles under pressure. I hope she always stays feisty and doesn’t let anyone forget that although she is small she is a force to be reckoned with. I hope she always loves herself and always remembers that while she isn’t perfect she is the only person in the world that can ever be Adele Kay Mata. Most importantly, I hope she always remembers that I love her unconditionally every second of every minute of every day that I am living + eternity after that.

With Love, BM
