Hey Y’all! I’m Brandace Mata, a twenty-something wife, girl mom, and Army Veteran with a deep passion for protecting children, giving them a voice and keeping the conversation about child abuse awareness going so that all children can grow up in a world that’s free of the mistreatment of children.
I met my husband, Marcus in college and relocated to the Houston suburbs after he graduated to pursue a life as a high school football coaches wife! If you’re from Texas or know anything about it you’ll know that high school football is a religion so we eat, sleep and breathe football here almost all year round and I’ll tell ya, I’m not mad about it! I may live in Texas now but I’m from Kansas and part of my heart will always be in that small midwestern town; Go Chiefs!
My inspiration for The Brandace Blog is all the difficult roads I’ve walked down, how I’ve survived those incredibly hard times, and how I’m breaking the cycle for my own daughter but its not about me, I want to help women [men too] just like me who are trying to survive. I want to teach people who are living through abuse that there IS a way out, you ARE worth it, you DO deserve to be loved, your life IS important. I want to use my voice to provide support and motivation to those who are having trouble finding it on their own.
So here I want to talk all things life (I have a love for home décor) but I also want to talk about real life issues that I feel need more attention (I have a deep passion for child abuse awareness) while keeping an open mind and always remembering that honesty without tact is cruelty. I hope that you’ll stick around for a while and join me in conversation.
With love, BM
